The Latest On-Trend Way of Gastronomic Cooking…

You may have heard of Sous Vide cooking, which is using an excellent bit of kitchen gadget that promises to produce perfectly cooked meals all at the touch of a button.

Once only used in some of the high-end restaurants, you can now produce your gourmet meals and cook the steaks you ordered online, with the same panache using these supposedly easy-to-use pieces of kitchen equipment.

So, what is Sous Vide, what can they do, and where can you get them?

Well, believe it or not, you can now purchase these elegant restaurant-quality machines from the High Street for competitive prices – but before you balk at the price, remember, if you’re a food geek, this is the cooking gadget with the wow factor…

What is Sous Vide?

Sous vide, which incidentally means ‘under vacuum’ in French, is the innovative process of vacuum-sealing food in a bag, then cooking it to extremely high and precise temperatures in a water bath until it is perfectly cooked.

It is believed that this way of cooking at such precise temperatures produces results that are impossible to achieve through traditional cooking methods. The Wisconsin Steak Company shipped all their steaks Medium-rare using this method.

Sous vide literally unlocks all the food flavors when it’s cooking in the vacuumed bag immersed in water, therefore, maximizing the ingredient’s tastes, textures, and aromas.

Sealing the food in the plastic pouch and then immersing it in a water bath for a series of precise temperatures and times, allows the cook to produce mouth-watering steaks, meats of all types, vegetables, grains, and fruits to absolute perfection.

So, here at the steps.

  1. Season
  2. Seal
  3. Sous Vide

“Sous Vide Is simple but unique.”

Video on how to use a Sous Vide to cook a steak

I am a steak lover but always have problems cooking them to the perfect medium. I think I have to start looking into a Sous Vide cooking machine after finding this video.

Benefits of Sous Vide

There are lots of benefits of using sous vide to aid your cooking. Perhaps the first is its reliability – the water temperature can be controlled so precisely that great results are almost guaranteed.

For example, this means that your long-for steak will be cooked to an even pinkness throughout.

What makes it even more appealing perhaps, though, is that you can forget all about it – just by sticking your food into the machine, disappearing for a couple of hours, and coming back to a bath of juicy and moist meat.

The food then tastes divine as it cooks in its own juices, ensuring it is succulent and tender.

Normally cooked food tends to dry out and can result in waste

” Did you know that traditionally cooked steak loses up to 40% of its volume due to drying out?  “

With precision cooking, meat, including steak, loses none of its volume or juices.

Another benefit is that you no longer have to worry about overcooking as sous vide takes care of all timings for you.

Sous Vide Equipment

So, if you want your food cooked to perfection, as well as being able to set your sous vide’s immersion circulation to finish cooking your food at a set time, you can.

So, if you want your steaks cooked to perfection by 8 pm or your eggs ready for breakfast at 7 am, worry no more as you can set your smartphone to speed up or delay the final cooking phase to when you’re ready.

There are plenty of immersion circulatory models on the market with different gadgets and benefits.

Do your research, and you too could have gourmet meals every day…

The prices of the Sous Vide equipment range from just under $100 to several hundred of dollars. I don’t believe that for us as home cooks, you need to spend so much.

Here is a video that looks at some of the best sous vide machines.
